The Agony of Restless Nights

Restlessness can ensnare you like a vice during the night. Every noise becomes amplified, every shadow takes on a threatening form. We seek for an/a/some escape, a place/safety/shelter where the pain/suffering/anguish can fade/disappear/evaporate, but often/always/sometimes the darkness persists/holds tight/remains. It's in these moments of helplessness that we must find/create/forge our own/internal/personal light/strength/will. We must face/confront/stand against the emptiness/void/terror, and discover/remember/unearth the powerful spirit that lies within/deep inside/at our core.

Aching for Sweet Oblivion

The grip of oblivion was a siren's call, a searing promise of rest. To drown in its embrace was to silence the incessant chant of existence. The world's sharp edges blurred under the spell of its calm.

To truly desire oblivion was to plead for a temporary respite from the burden of being.
